CFD Modeling to Analyze Palm Shell Co-firing Percentage on Ketapang CFB Power Plant

Abstract Biomass is one of the world’s greatest sustainable energy potentials. Utilization biomass in form Co-firing coal fuel with alternative to reduce dependence fossil fuels towards green power plant. This paper addresses Co-Firing modelling test results up 50% using palm kernel shell (palm shell) Ketapang Coal Fired Power Plant (CFPP) 2x10 MW. CFPP has circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler. There are several advantages by direct co-firing CFB boiler: lowest investment cost, a wider range selection characteristics and than PC Boilers, can process materials higher moisture content, etc. Result shown that optimum percentage use 30% shell. caused temperature value at 18 cm above furnace exit gas which not too much different from 0% also strengthened high CO 2 mass fraction mixture, indicates an ideal combustion.
